Terms of Service.
These terms govern use of redactlabs.ca and the free public tools operated by RedactLabs Inc. Client work is governed by the signed documents for that engagement.

Scope
Website terms, not a client contract.
The site describes RedactLabs services and hosts public tools. Specific client engagements need their own written scope.

Terms
The operative clauses.
If a signed agreement says something different for an engagement, the signed agreement controls that engagement.
- Signed work prevails
- If RedactLabs Inc. and a client sign a proposal, statement of work, master services agreement, data-processing addendum, or similar written agreement, that signed document governs the engagement and prevails over these website terms where they conflict.
- Acceptable use
- Do not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit unlawful or harmful material, or use the site in a way that would impair it for other visitors.
- Scan authorization
- Use /scan/ and the /api/mcp endpoint’s domain-probing tools only for domains you own, administer, or are explicitly authorized to assess. The scan tool is designed for public hostnames and rejects local, internal, and IP-address targets.
- Intellectual property
- The RedactLabs website, copy, designs, code, marks, and public resources are owned by RedactLabs Inc. or its licensors. Client deliverables, licenses, and reuse rights are handled in the applicable signed scope of work.
- Free tools and content
- Free tools, reports, resources, and website content are provided for general information and initial triage. They are not legal advice, a complete security audit, or a substitute for a scoped engagement.
- No warranties
- The website, free tools, public resources, and scan outputs are provided as available and without warranties. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, completeness, or error-free results for free tools or public content.
- Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RedactLabs Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from website use or free tools. Engagement-specific liability terms belong in the signed agreement.
- Termination
- We may suspend or block access to the site or free tools where we reasonably believe the use is abusive, unauthorized, unlawful, harmful, or likely to impair the service.
- Governing law
- These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
- Changes
- We may update these terms by publishing a revised version on this page. The effective date above identifies the current version.
